About me

Collaborative counselling built around your goals

My services

I offer counselling for individuals aged 16+ who are facing various challenges in their lives. I specialise in supporting people in the following areas:

  • Autism and ADHD
  • Anxiety
  • Bereavement
  • Depression
  • Eating disorders
  • Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Self-harm and suicidal ideation
  • Trauma

My approach

I’m a counsellor, and trainee integrative psychotherapist, which means that I am trained in different therapeutic approaches that I combine to support you to achieve your goals. For example, we might use Gestalt therapy to explore your present difficulties, or Psychodynamic therapy to explore how your past is affecting you in the present. We may also incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to uncover practical ways to manage challenges that you're currently facing.

I believe each person is a unique individual who moves through counselling at their own pace. This journey is not always straightforward, but we can work collaboratively to explore and understand your thoughts and feelings to enable you to lead a more fulfilling life.

I'm autistic and ADHD myself, which gives me an additional layer of insight and understanding when I support neurodivergent people.

My experience

I have 13 years’ experience of supporting people to improve their psychological wellbeing, working for specialist charities and healthcare providers across both inpatient and community settings.

I have extensive experience of working with neurodivergent people. I am Chair of the Trustee Board for Aurum, a charitable organisation supporting autistic women and girls in Worcestershire and Shropshire, and also work as an autism employment mentor, supporting autistic employees and their managers. I have a particular interest in supporting people who have experienced trauma, and I provide counselling at a charity for survivors of sexual violence.

I have a MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I also have a MSc and PhD in Psychology. For full details, please see my qualifications below.

I am registered with the Universities Psychotherapy and Counselling Association (UPCA) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
